The Dimplex DFP6817E Media-Console Electric Fireplace is an amazing media fireplace, with subtle style, huge media storage integration, and patented flame effects that are some of the best on the market.
At the time of writing, this unit had overall Electric Fireplace Reviews of 4.7 out of 5. The quality score was highest, as Dimplex makes a very high quality mantel and uses excellent components in its insert.
The electric fireplace insert offers 1500 watts, which is easily enough to heat a room of 400 square feet. The flame effect is highly realistic, and comes with a very cozy and true – to – life log set. You can also use the insert with or with out heat, which is excellent for those times you just want ambiance and not actual heat.
Dimplex electric fireplace insert is over 23″, and has a patented flame and log effect that really do a fire justice. This system also comes with a powerful heating core, and gentle touch control board, timer, and remote.
The Mantel is very nicely done. It has large integrated storage cubbies that are concealable using the doors and front panels. The electric fireplace reviews from customers on this unit also state that the mantel is of very high quality finish with high quality solid good veneers, and solid wood frame.

Dimplex CFP3920BW Std Electric Fireplace Review with 20″ electric fireplace insert
The Dimplex CFP3920BW is another great electric fireplace from Dimplex. This electric fireplace unit is one of our favorites for the 2012 winter season. It comes with a stunning, and subtle burnished walnut mantel, and is perfect for almost any sized room and whether you have a house, condo or town-home, provides great style and value. Due to its size, this electric fireplace works very well in living areas, bedrooms, foyers or dens and offices.
When we did our review of full featured fireplaces, this one came out on top due to its amazing value, and sells at only $299 – down from its regular price of $399. The unit sold at both Amazon and Lowes, and scored an average of 4.8/5.0 – which places it easily in the top three reviews for this year.
This fireplace also comes with a fully featured electric fireplace insert, that has a great flame effect and log set similar to the media fireplace from Dimplex shown above. It comes with remote, and pumps out a solid 1500 watts, which like larger electric fireplace inserts is well enough to heat over 400 square feet. It also is very economical on power, and heats at pennies an hour…

Yes, we know there are showing a lot of Dimplex items on our list; but they keep getting the best scores. Remember we only list items that are the best of the best, and get the most favorable reviews from the best retailers.
This item is an electric fireplace retrofit / replacement insert that allows you to convert any gas or wood burning fireplace into a electric fireplace in seconds. They are very easy and popular heating solutions.
The Dimplex flame effect consistently gets top scores for its real life display and heating power. The log effects are also very nice and effective in creating the perfect decorative flame effect.
We love the plug and play aspect of this fireplace, although we wish the overall look was a bit more refined, it is excellent value and a very good performer.
The bottom line; for electric fireplaces offered. Dimplex seems to own the market with value, quality, and style (except the retrofit inserts in our humble opinion).
From a review of retailers, 2 are best from our perspective. Amazon.com for its huge selection, free ship offers, and value, as well as ease of return. The other was Costco. While Costco had a limited selection, the quality for price was very good and the return policy is the best in the business.
